In perhaps one of the more peculiar stories of the season, tennis stars
Tommy Paul and
Grigor Dimitrov will have to play in the qualifying rounds in order to participate at this year's Cinch Championships in Queens.
Both Dimitrov and Paul are ranked high enough to receive automatic entry to the event, however, neither man was able to sign in for the tournament's main draw. Therefore, they will have to compete in qualifiers to secure their participation.
The qualifying rounds are played behind closed doors, with no spectators present. Dimitrov will face Aleksander Vukic in the first round, whereas Tommy Paul takes on Taro Daniel.
