Second match but a similar outcome for Team Europe as they take a 2-0 lead behind a 6-2 6-1 thrashing of Schwartzman by Tsitsipas.
There is not much to say about this match but it was a very good return for Tsitsipas to the Arena where he won his only ATP Finals trophy so far. The Greek did it a few years ago and it was one of the last editions to be held in that arena.
It was a quick start for Tsitsipas who was able to absorb the aggression from Schwartzman as it wasn't really that good. The Argentine struggled to create many chances for himself as Tsitsipas looked to shorten the points with some serve and volley.
All of that contributed to a rather swift finish in the opening set 6-2 for Tsitsipas. The second set opened with a break for Schwartzman and it seems we would get a much better match from that point on but it wasn't like that.
Schwartzman once again reverted to making errors and Tsitsipas was able not only to get the break back but also jump out to a lead. He kept applying pressure and Diego lost patience completely throwing away any chance of a comeback giving Europe to 2-0 lead.
