After Team Stripes led 3-1 after Day 1 and 9-3 after Day 2 it seemed that it's obvious who's going to be the winner. However, Team Stars showed their strengths on the last day of the All-American Team Cup. After leveling the score to 9-9, Taylor Fritz gave Team Stars the first lead of the weekend before the last match of the competition that determined the champions.

Steve Johnson faced Tommy Paul in the last match of the tournament. The more experienced Johnson defeated Opelka and Fritz in three sets. On the other hand, Paul lost to Sandgren and Querrey also in three sets. And as the tie-break could decide the All-American Team Cup in case Johnson would win the match, Paul didn't have the best statistics ahead of the match as he lost both super tie-breaks he played.

And it was a tie-break that troubled Paul in the first set. After he failed to convert a breakpoint in the 7th game and another two in 9th, the set was decided in the tie-break. Paul lost the tie-break 2-7 and so Team Stripes got closer to victory at All-American Team Cup.

Johnson kicked-off the second set with an early break in the third game and seemed to be unbeatable on his service. He lost the first point on serve in the 8th game. But that didn't stop him on his journey to win the match 7-6(2), 6-4. But that was not the end of the competition. As Team Stripes leveled the score to 12-12 after this match, Johnson and Paul needed to play one more tie-break that will decide about the winner of the All-American Team Cup.

Tommy Paul managed to forget all the lost tie-breaks in the most important one. He defeated Steve Johnson in the decisive tie-break and so Team Stars became champions of the 2020 All-American Team Cup. The will present a $10,000 check to Folded Flag Foundation and also receive the trophy for the winners.
