According to reports, Nick Kyrgios will play at Roland Garros after missing much of this year due to a knee injury and surgery he had around the time of the Australian Open.
Nick Kyrgios made a promise last year to play at the 2023 Roland Garros which surprised many people considering that he really doesn't like to play on the surface. He explained the decision as a favour to his girlfriend who really wants to see Paris and according to reports it seems like it's really going to happen.
Kyrgios has been out since January after undergoing a knee procedure back home in Australia. Nobody knew when he would return as his team didn't comment on his comeback however a tennis official familiar with the situation anonymously confirmed that Kyrgios is likely to make his return in Paris.
He hasn't played on European clay since 2019 and his last Roland Garros appereance came in 2017. Speaking in December Kyrgios famously said:
"Yes, I'm playing the French Open. My girlfriend (Costeen Hatzi) wants to see Paris, so why not?"
Let's see if it happens.
