Thanasi Kokkinakis has been confirmed for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) event in Guadalajara, joining Nick Kyrgios and Casper Ruud next February. The World No. 77 has extensive UTS experience, reaching the semifinals in Frankfurt this year and competing in the UTS Finals in London, where he exited during the round-robin stage.

A new UTS event was recently announced, following four editions held throughout 2024. This will be the first time UTS travels to Mexico, with matches scheduled from February 14 to 16, coinciding with the final stages of the ATP 250 tournaments in Delray Beach and Buenos Aires.

Kokkinakis becomes the fifth player confirmed for the event, which has proven popular with fans for its unique format. Previously announced participants include 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios (“King Kyrgios”), three-time Grand Slam finalist Casper Ruud (“The Ice Man”), former World No. 10 Denis Shapovalov (“Shapo”), and rising Italian star Flavio Cobolli (“Il Gladiatore”).

The players will compete for a $420,000 champion’s prize out of a total prize pool exceeding $1.4 million. Three more star players are yet to be revealed. As in previous editions, the tournament will feature two days of round-robin matches, followed by semifinals and a final on the third day to determine the champion.
