As well as the fun of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown on the court,
Casper Ruud,
Alexander Bublik and Benoit Paire, three of the main entertainers in London during the Grand Final also met for dinner and a roundtable which saw the former being the main source of the jokes.
Reaching multiple Grand Slam finals including at the US Open with the World No.1 spot potentially on the line, Bublik hilariously teased Ruud about his winning record on the ATP 250 calendar.
Bublik leaves Paire in stitches at 'Ruud' one-liner
Ruud famously on the tour is known as one of the best players when it comes to the clay court swings usually in South America and Europe and hoovers up the titles.
Bublik said: "You were one match away from being World No.1, no?" to which Ruud replied: "Yeah, last year at the US Open." Then dropped the one-liner in retort: "That year you won how many, 11 ATP 250's?"
But Ruud himself came back with facts. "That wasn't that year, that was 2021 and I won five." Bublik tried to name all of his titles from there while Paire was left in stitches. "You had Kitzbuhel, Gstaad, Cordoba..." Some found it hilarious, but some saw it as an unnecessary jibe at Ruud considering what Bublik has accomplished in comparison. "He can tease him all he want, but Casper has accomplished more than Bublik."
