Felix Auger-Aliassime served as the Team Captain of Team Canada at the ATP Cup and he led them to the trophy.
Not only did Auger-Aliassime serve as of the youngest if not the youngest team captain in ATP Cup history, he also played pretty darn good tennis on the court. The Canadian players delivered some huge wins for Canada that allowed them to reach the final and the win against Spain. He played both singles and doubles and along with Shapovalov was one of the best players at the event.
On winning he said:
“The emotions are unbelievable. There’s no better feeling than winning. We left everything out there. We came back from far in this competition, losing our first four matches. But we never stopped believing."
One thing that could be said of Canada was the trust they put in each other which Auger-Aliassime confirmed:
“I think that’s very important. We trust each other to the highest level … it came down to the perfect result. I’m super thrilled for everybody in the whole team and myself, of course.”
