Italy’s tennis star Jannik Sinner believes connecting with the local crowd during the ATP Finals means a lot to him.
The last major tournament in the men’s tennis calendar is currently taking place in Italy’s city of Turin where Sinner and the current world number one Novak Djokovic have qualified for the final of the competition.
Sinner, who is still unbeaten in the tournament, was recently quoted in a report where he stated that it was special to connect with the local crowd during the competition.
“It’s an incredible event. It’s also the end of the year,” he said. “Players are a bit more tired. But the people just give me positive energy. I try to connect with the people well. It means a lot to me being in the final. Tomorrow is gonna be really, really tough.
“But it’s a privilege to be here. It’s a privilege to play another final. This season has been a very positive one. A good season with many matches. I’m very happy I can come out tomorrow on this court for the last time. Let’s see how it goes.”
Sinner defeated the world number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the semifinal of the tournament with a score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-1. On the other hand, Djokovic defeated the world number two Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the last-four clash with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
