Andy Murray will get his Wimbledon campaign underway against Nikoloz Basilashvili and Murray was asked about the domestic violence charges Basilashvili is facing back home in Georgia. Murray has always described himself as a feminist and champion of women's right so his position did not surprise anyone. He said:
"For me, there should be protocols and a process in place when allegations like this are made. I don't know exactly what those processes are. From what I've heard, they're not great."
Murray further said:
"That's
something that the ATP, the governing bodies, the ITF (International
Tennis Federation), the Slams should be looking to implement in my
opinion."
When asked about his tennis Murary was optimistic saying:
"Yeah, I would say the time I have spent on the court has been good.
Getting to play with Roger [Federer on Friday] was really cool for me."
