Despite dominating the ATP circuit this season, Jannik Sinner could still use some improvement in an aspect of his game, according to Sinner's fitness coach, Marco Panichi.

The Italian was superb during the 2024 season, winning eight titles including two Grand Slams. Sinner would end the year on a high, cruising past the competition at the season-ending ATP Finals to lift the trophy for the first time and end the year as the World No.1.

Optimizing Sinner's stamina is vital to his success, says Panichi

The 23-year old lost only 6 of his 76 matches on tour this year, which enabled him to seize the World No.1 ranking, a position he has held since June. Sinner has been the picture of consistency during this period, as he has reached the quarterfinals of every tournament he has played in.

However, the young star still has room for improvement. In news that may worry his rivals, Sinner's coach believes the Italian could get better in terms of his physicality and fitness, making him an even bigger threat on tour.

"Beyond the various ‘Run, jump and lift weights’, what matters is the communication between team members, how you manage to motivate the guys and how you find the keys to stimulate them," said Panichi in an interview with Sky Sports Italia. “Because you have to take into account that they have been doing this for years and from morning to night.
“And then the cohesion between everyone is fundamental: the information that reaches the player must be univocal. This makes the difference.
"We will try to improve all the weapons that Jannik already has. In addition, we will try to improve his ability to stay on the pitch by optimizing everything. So, also physically lasting longer.
“An aspect that would allow him to always have a high cruising speed that would make him even more effective and efficient – there is still a lot of work to be done on this.”
