Norway’s Casper Ruud believes that the end is getting near
for the world number one Novak Djokovic and Spain’s legendary tennis star
Rafael Nadal. Both players are regarded as two of the greatest players in the
history of men’s tennis in the singles category along with Switzerland’s Roger
Federer.
The Swiss legendary tennis star already retired from the
sport back in 2022 September whereas Nadal has also announced that 2024 season
will be his last at the highest level. Djokovic, on the other hand, has not hinted
any such thing but he is clearly having a decline this season as he is yet to play
in a final of any event. Rudd was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that it seems the end is near for both Djokovic and Nadal and both will be extremely
missed.
"Yes, really really exciting,” he said. “You know, I
might sound like I’m like a fanboy but that’s okay I mean his absence from the
tour is… you notice it, and it’s always fun when he shows up. You know him,
Roger, Novak, they have a huge influence on the tour and whenever they're
absent, it's different, obviously, it is an opportunity for every other player
but now, at this point of their careers with Rafa…, Roger has already retired,
but it’s getting closer to the end for them unfortunately and they will be so
missed.”
