After recent success at the 2020 Australian Open, Dominic Thiem won't be playing at the 2020 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires as another TOP 10 player Matteo Berrettini withdrew as well.

Thiem and Berrettini were supposed to be the first two seeded players at the Argentina Open. However, after their withdrawal, two Argentinians, Diego Schwartzman, and Guido Pella will overtake their positions in Buenos Aires.
Recently, the aforementioned Pella spoke about Thiem's appearance in Buenos Aires when he said: “I would not like Thiem to play Buenos Aires; he is on another level at the moment. I prefer him to stay at home and not come to Buenos Aires."
The Argentinan admitted that Thiem is on another level at the moment. After losing to Novak Djokovic in the final at the Australian Open, Thiem added a picture of himself on Instagram saying: "Back home in Austria. Time to recharge after some intense weeks. 1 million followers are completely insane. Thanks to every single one of you for the great support!"
The Austrian thanked all of his fans as he reached 1 million followers but also spoke about rest in Austria. The tournament in Buenos Aires will be held from 10th of the February with the final played on the 16th.
