Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev advanced to the semifinals at Thiem's 7 after they triumphed in their last matches in the group stage

After Roberto Bautista defeated Dennis Novak and became the second semifinalist from Group B, fans in Kitzbuhel were about to find out who are the two semifinalists from Group A going to be. After the first two days, Dominic Thiem was the only player with 2 victories, while Rublev and Struff triumphed once.
In order to maximize his chances for the semifinals, Andrey Rublev needed to defeat Casper Ruud, ideally in two sets. The match seemed to be an ideal one when the Russian won the first set 6-2. However, Ruud fought back in the second to force the third decisive set.
In the super tie-break, Rublev prevailed to win the match 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 but still needed help from the organizer of the tournament, Dominic Thiem. The young Russian needed a victory from Thiem against Struff to qualify for the semifinals in Kitzbuhel.
And the world no. 3 didn't disappoint Rublev. He showed his qualities to fans in Kitzbuhel once again and defeated the German in two sets. After winning the first set 6-4 after 30 minutes, 'Domi' continued with his good performance also in the second to win it 7-3 in the tie-break and qualify for the semifinals undefeated.
