Tiafoe receives personalized Cherry Blossom DC United jersey: "This tournament is one reason why I believed I could play pro tennis"

Following his second round win at the 2023 DC Open, hometown hero Frances Tiafoe was presented with a personalized Cherry Blossom D.C. United football jersey.
Tiafoe prevailed over Aslan Karatsev in a tough 7-6(5) 7-6(5) victory, and afterwards acknowledged his home event as being instrumental in shaping his tennis career.

The World No.10 was later gifted a customized jersey from local football team D.C United, with his name emblazoned on the back, above the No.3. Tiafoe later took to social media to post a video of him receiving the jersey.
