Tommy Paul made it to the Acapulco final but he lost to
Alex de Minaur and then joked about it following the final despite the upsetting loss.
Both Paul and de Minaur remained long on the court in their semi-final matches with Pau'ls win over Fritz actually the longest match in Acapulco tennis history. Both showed some tired legs in the final, especially Paul who was on top early in the match but then could not keep up with de Minaur who flipped the match over a bit later.
It's a disappointing loss for Paul but he took it well and remained positive even joking about on social media after it. Posting photos of the duo posing with the trophies, Paul wrote that de Minaur 'remains his daddy on the court':
"Good week in @abiertomexicanodetenis congrats to @alexdeminaur for the sick week and remaining my daddy on the tennis court."
