The Qatar Open 2025 has been upgraded to an ATP 500 tournament, which increases its appeal to top tennis players. With Jannik Sinner already confirmed, it has now been announced that Novak Djokovic will also compete in Doha from February 17 to 22 next year.

It is a tournament strategically located in the calendar with enough rest after the Australian Open to be able to prepare for the other two big hard court tournaments at the beginning of the season: Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

We will see if Carlos Alcaraz decides to join Djokovic and Sinner to complete a dream draw or if the Murcian prefers to take it easy at a stage of the season where there are alternatives to choose from.

In the last two seasons of the tournament held in Doha have triumphed the Russians Karen Khachanov (defeated Jakub Mensik last year) and Daniil Medvedev (Andy Murray's executioner in 2023). A year earlier, Roberto Bautista Agut had won a tournament that Djokovic has already won twice and that Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have also won.

One week before the men's tournament, the Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2025 women's event will take place, scheduled from February 9 to 15, 2025. The presence of the world's top players is anticipated.
