Cameron Norrie lost a very important match against Botic van de Zandschulp in Glasgow 4-6 2-6 to make it 1-1.
The winner of this matchup will remain in content to qualify for the Davis Cup Finals later this year and Cameron Norrie had a chance to seal the win for his nation as Dan Evans proved better than Tallon Griekspoor earlier in the day.
However, it went quite bad for Norrie who never found his footing in this one. On the other side, we had a very sturdy Botic van de Zandschulp who had his serve working to perfection. As it's an indoor setting, the serve is a very useful weapon to have and Botic dropped only four points behind his serve in the opening set.
He took it 6-4 as Norrie was unable to create any kind of pressure never seeing a break point. To counter that Norrie took up his aggressiveness in the second set and it coincided with Botic losing his first serve. Even so, the Brit was just all over the place slamming the ball wide too frequently. Botic was sturdy and cruised to a 6-2 finish setting up the deciding doubles.
