Alexander Bublik amazed the DC Open crowd with his quick thinking as he hit an impressive tweener in his opening doubles match.
World No. 25 Bublik has been playing in both singles and doubles at the ATP 500 event in Washington, although his run in the latter has now come to an end.
Bublik and his doubles partner Tallon Griekspoor were defeated in straight sets by American duo Mackenzie McDonald and Ben Shelton, who won the match 6-4, 7-6 (4).

Played some memorable points

Nevertheless, Bublik was notable in the match for playing some spectacular shots, the most memorable of which was the tweener winner that he played in the second set, hitting the ball from between his legs and watching gleefully as his opponents failed to respond.
The moment was captured in a video byTennis TV, shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by 'The Tennis Letter', who captioned the post,
"Alexander Bublik hit an incredible tweener winner playing doubles today.
One minute he’s standing straight up to return an overhead.
The next minute, he’s hitting a tweener right by you.
Only Sasha Bublik."
The 26-year-old is currently ranked No. 25 in the world, the highest he has ever been. Earlier this year, he won his biggest ATP title to date at the Halle Open, defeating third seed Andrey Rublev to become the first Kazakhstani player to win an ATP 500 singles title since 2010.
He is now preparing to play against Gael Monfils in the second round of the singles event at the Citi Open.
