As Andrey Rublev faces off against Francisco Comesana in his opener at Wimbledon over on Court Two, he continues to struggle to hold it together with another meltdown.
Rublev who is known as one of the nicest people on the ATP Tour cuts a different figure on court usually taking it out on his racquet. After being broken against Comesana, he decided to again as he has done many times in recent months smash his racquet off his knee.
The Russian does this fairly violently too doing it on a multitude of occasions before walking back to his bench during the changeover. He was infamously disqualified from his match at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for screaming in the face of a line judge.
But this did him more harm than good with Rublev going on a losing streak following that. Up until he ended up winning the Madrid Open famously while having a problem with his throat. But it has been a usual part of his game and for many a pretty disturbing one where he feels the need to take out his frustrations on himself with his racquet. Many have called especially in this latest instance for a sports psychologist to get involved.
