Following his quarterfinal loss to Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open, Denis Shapovalov expressed some of his frustration by smashing his racket into the ground.
The Canadian almost pulled off a comeback, trailing from two sets to love down, before sparking an unreal run that saw him level the match at two sets apiece. Nonetheless, it was Nadal who prevailed, taking the deciding set to advance to yet another Grand Slam semifinal.
Shapovalov was understandably upset, and the 22-year old smashed his racket into the ground after losing the final point before going over to embrace Nadal at the net. However, the World No.14 left his racket on the court as he left the stadium. Sensing an opportunity, a lucky ball-girl walked over and picked it up, before shrugging to her fellow ball-kid and taking the racket with her off the court. Let's hope she gets to keep the souvenir!
