Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has shared an interesting video about being hit by her daughter with full force while playing an indoor game. The 34-year-old was once regarded as one of the best players playing in women’s tennis in the singles category.
Wozniacki returned to the court earlier in the later stages of the 2023 season after spending nearly three years on the sidelines. The Odense-born star, in a video on her official account on the social media platform Instagram, shared an interesting video where she was hit by full-power shot from her daughter while playing the tee-ball. The caption of the video was "Somehow I am always the one getting hit.”
Upon her return to the court earlier this year, thing did not go as planned for the former world number one who manages to win just 16 matches in 29 outings and suffered 13 defeats in the process. Her most impressive outings came in the Indian Wells and in Homburg where she was managed to qualify for the quarterfinals. At the Indian Wells, she was forced to retire against reigning world number Poland’s Iga Swiatek because of an injury.
Later in June, Wozniacki was once again forced to retire during the quarterfinals clash in Homburg, this time against America’s Emma Navarro. Out of the four Grand Slams, the former world number played in three of them and did not have great results. Her best outing in a major event was at the US Open where she was knocked out after losing in the fourth round to Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Wozniacki has not played any tennis since the US Open. Her only major title remains the Australian Open back in 2018 where she defeated former world number one Simona Halep in the final with a score of 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.
