Norway’s tennis star
Casper Ruud had an interesting way to
celebrate after his memorable triumph in the
Barcelona Open. The 25-year-old
registered an impressive win against Greece’s
Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final
of the competition in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-3.
After the result, Ruud celebrated in an interesting manner.
In a video posted on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter —
the current world number six divided into the pall with ball kids, something
which was appreciated by the fans on social media as well.
The victory was indeed a special one as it was the biggest
title for Ruud in his professional career tennis career. The result was special
also because the three-time Grand Slam runner-up lost in the final of the
Monte-Carlo Masters to the same opponent in straight sets with a score of 6-1,
6-4. The result was also an endorsement of Ruud’s impressive form in the ongoing
season where he has won the most number of matches. Before his triumph in
Barcelona, the Oslo-born played in the final at Monte-Carlo, Los Cabos Open and
the Mexican Open. Other than that, he also played in the semifinal of the Estoril
Open where he lost to Spain’s Pedro Martínez with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
