16-year-old Mirra Andreeva is quickly becoming a fan favourite with her impressive play as a teenager and her loveable personality which she showed a few times already.
The Russian teenager started off her Roland Garros campaign with a good win over veteran Riske beating her in two sets. It was her first grand slam match ever and she handled it really well. It's pretty clear that she's a special talent, a tennis prodigy of sorts who will be a big name in the sport rather quickly.
She's already in the top 100 and will only rise as the months go by. Joining the Tennis Channel crew after her match, Andreeva showcased her sweet personality which has already attracted many fans towards her.
Practising with Gauff
Andreeva shared a story of how she and Gauff ended up practicing together praising the American for being very nice:
