America’s tennis star
John Isner got all emotional after
receiving a hug from his son during the
US Open 2023.
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is underway in
New York where players from all over the world are participating to showcase their
talent.
Isner secured a thumping win in the round of 128 in straight
sets against Argentina’s Facundo Diaz Acosta with a score of 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 on Tuesday.
In a video posted by the US Open's official Twitter page,
Isner got all emotional after receiving a hug from his son.
The 38-year-old further went on to talk about how he is
looking to extend the winning run in the competition.
"It’s not goodbye yet,” he said while addressing the crowd
sitting in the arena. “I’m actually feeling pretty good, so I'm going to try to
keep this going as long as I can.
"To be an American and to have played the Open
17 times I don’t take that for granted. This tournament, you fans are so
incredible.”
Isner has a decent record while playing at the US Open
where he has played in the quarterfinal twice—in 2011 and later in 2018.
is now set to face fellow American Michael Mmoh in the round
of 64 tie on Thursday.
