Daniil Medvedev received a bizarre hindrance penalty in his match against Bublik that left everyone laughing.
When you get a match between Daniil Medvedev and
Alexander Bublik you can expect some interesting and funny situations. One such happened early in the 3rd set when Medvedev received a bizarre penalty that you don't see too often. Medvedev lost a point before it was over, due to the penalty even though he technically should have won it.
After a serve and volley by Bublik Medvedev smashed the ball down the middle almost hitting the Kazakhstani player. Bublik was able to get it over but as Medvedev waited for the ball to drop he said 'Sorry' to Bublik for almost hitting him which prompted the umpire to call a hindrance penalty of the Russian per rule.
Medvedev was left in disbelief arguing that the call is really stupid and saying: 'This is going to be on Tennis TV'. Bublik himself was left confused initially but realized that he actually won the point because of it. And Medvedev was right, it ended up on Tennis TV so check it out below.
