America’s tennis star Tommy Paul’s impressive gesture during
the China Open received a lot of admiration from the fans on social media.
The 26-year-old lost to the current world number three
Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the round of 32 of the tournament with a score of 6-2,
6-1 on Friday.
During that match, Paul helped the ball girl in finding the stuck
ball and his gesture went down well with the fans on social media.
The New Jesey-born will be hoping to continue his winning run
in the competition and go all the way to salvage his overall performance this
year.
Paul started the year brightly as he played in the semifinal
of the Australian Open where he lost to the current world number one Serbia’s legendary
tennis star Novak Djokovic in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-1, 6-2.
However, not much has gone right since then for the current
world number 13 as he failed to qualify for the quarterfinal or beyond in any
of the other three Grand Slams.
In the recently concluded US Open, Paul was knocked out after
suffering a defeat in the fourth round to fellow American Ben Shelton with a
score of 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
