VIDEO: Wawrinka returns to the court after injury lay-off

Stan Wawrinka is finally back on a tennis court after multiple injuries and setbacks over the past few months.

He has not been seen on the ATP Tour for almost a year and now three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka is edging back to a possible return. Wawrinka has been battling a foot problem since his appearance in Doha last March, but he has now released images of his return to court.

Wawrinka suggested at the back end of 2021 that he was looking to return to the court in March after another injury set-back, but it appeared his hit on Friday was very much a tentative step back towards a return to game. At the age of 36, Wawrinka clearly feels he has something more to offer, with his most recent appearance in an ATP Tour final coming as he lost to Andy Murray in the 2019 European Open in Antwerp.
