The participation of
Novak Djokovic at the
Australian Open is still up in the air with event chief Craig Tiley confirming that we will know more in a few days.
The never-ending saga of Novak Djokovic and the Australian Open is yet to receive a conclusion with fans already being fed up with the whole situation. There have been many opinions stated by former and current players with many reports coming out of Australia and Serbia as well. Nobody has a clear picture of whether Djokovic will truly participate at the event or not and we will know in a few days.
That is according to event director Craig Tiley who was once more asked to speak on the matter and he said:
“We’ve still got a few charter flights coming in until the end of
this week and then all the players will be here. As far as the status relates to Novak, I think we’ll have a much
clearer picture in the coming days otherwise it’s getting pretty late to
show up and play the Australian Open."
Tiley did not add much to the equation but once more underlined that everything will be known in a few days:
“There’s quite a bit to play out and I think it will play out in the coming days.”
As before, only time will tell, and we will wait and see what happens. Djokovic is currently in Spain practicing daily so take it for what you will.
