The Western & Southern Open will conclude with the ATP Final where
Andrey Rublev will face
Alexander Zverev in the final.
A great week of tennis in Cincinnati will conclude with the ATP Final between Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev. Both of these players won classics in the semifinals over Medvedev and Zverev and both wins came after being on the losing side at one point.
Rublev had an interesting road to the final where he faced several different opponents along the way. Cilic, Monfils, Paire and Medvedev all more or less could have beaten Rublev who proved his resilience by overcoming each and every one of them.
Zverev had a less stressful road to the final where he bested Harris, Pella, Ruud and finally Tsitispas. His win over Tsitsipas saw him squander a lead before coming back in dramatic fashion to win the match. Zverev is now on a 10-match winning streak which he will look to keep going.
For both of these players a lot will depend on their serve as it will allow them to keep the points short. Zverev has the better and more consistent serve and is overall more accomplished. He will be the favourite in this one leading Rublev 4-0 in H2H matches. Rublev will need to have his forehand razor-sharp if he hopes to win this match which seems unlikely.
