ATP Finals is the biggest tournament left in the calendar of men’s tennis this year and therefore, the excitement amongst the fans is increasing with every passing day.

Like every year, the primary point of discussion before the competition has been about which eight players will make it to the competition.

This year, four players have already cemented their place in the tournament, including the likes of the current world number one Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, Spain’s young tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz, world number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev and Italy’s star Jannik Sinner.

For the other four players, at least 10 players are in the running which includes the likes of Russia’s Andrey Rublev, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, Germany’s Alexander Zverev, Denmark’s Holger Rune, America’s Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, Norway’s Casper Ruud and Russia’s Karen Khachanov.

Out of the four that have already qualified, Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam winner. He is recently coming on the back of winning the US Open for the fourth time. He defeated Medvedev in the final with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.

On the other hand, Alcaraz is a two-time Grand Slam winner. He won Wimbledon earlier this year after beating Djokovic in a five-set thrilling final with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.

Medvedev is fresh from his heroics in the US Open where he defeated Alcaraz in the semifinals and finished the competition as a runner-up.

Sinner has been in very good form off late as well as he won the China Open after defeating Medvedev in the final in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 7-6.
