Much has been talked about events looking to look very similar as there is less variety among court speeds and Andy Murray has some propositions.
According to Murray, the ATP Tour is trying way too hard to weaken some of the best servers on the Tour who have a clear advantage on very fast courts. Instead of doing that, the British player wants to see compromise because it's looking all the same now:
“The biggest problem with today's conditions most weeks is the courts and balls are both super slow. Almost zero variety. Why not have some quick courts with slow balls or vice versa? Shanghai was always a bit like this. This allows for all court tennis to be played."
He's not been the only one to call for something to change as Taylor Fritz also discussed the conditions noting that the balls make the biggest difference. Perhaps there could be a compromise to add variety to the tour and make things interesting.
