Great Britain will take on Germany in the
Davis Cup quarterfinals and ahead of the match, Smith spoke to the media noting his team is ready.
The last time Great Britain found glory in the Davis Cup was in 2015 when Leon Smith saw his team lift the trophy. The British team is trying to do that again this time around and they will take on Germany for a place in the semifinals. Speaking on the tie, Smith said:
"It'll
be a tough match but we will also be a tough match for them. We've
got a really good team and taken a lot from the last couple of days. It
has been a tough couple of days but the guys have stepped up to the
plate brilliantly. We will go in bouncing and in good form, ready for that."
Smith highlighted that the spirit in the team is very high because the lads genuinely like each other. Commenting on the relationship between all of them he said:
"We spend a lot of time together because we enjoy each other's company. It's been like that for a long time and long may it continue. I love the guys, it is not just the players and myself, the support team are absolutely brilliant. I couldn't ask for anything more. They are not just a nice bunch of people but everyone goes the extra mile. They do everything for us and do it with a smile on their face, everyone feels part of it."
