Russia’s tennis star Andrey Rublev has thanked the doctors
for taking care of him in Madrid. The 26-year-old has recently won the Madrid
Open where he defeated Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime in the final in a hard-fought contest with a score
of 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Rublev, after the match, while talking to the press, stated
that he would be visiting the doctor as he had been sick even before playing
the final. “I'm still sick, and tomorrow I guess I will go to the hospital for
a full check,” he said. “Don't know exactly what's going on, because I have
been sick already for eight, nine days, and this is not normal… Normally all my
life, if I was sick, it's two, three days, maximum… This time, first time I
feel the worst in my life… Inside of me is full of medication!”
Rublev, in a story on his official Instagram account, thanked
the doctors and the staff for taking care of him. “Words cannot explain how
grateful (I) am to all (the) doctors at ‘Hospital Universitario Sanitas La
Zarzuela,’” wrote the world number six. “You are amazing people and doctors,
thank you for helping me to get healthy! (It) means a lot to me.”
