Few of the big names in the world of tennis were baffled by
the AI generated images of Greece’s
Stefanos Tsitsipas as a toddler. The interaction
between the players was shared on the social media platform YouTube where the current
world number three
Carlos Alcaraz, former world number one
Andy Murray, Canada’s
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov could not believe their eyes.
"I could never say Tsitsipas," said Alcaraz."Tsitsipas?
Wow, I'm not having that," stated Murray."Tsitsipas? Wow, I'd never
have thought... I'd never have guessed that," said Auger-Aliassime."They
got the hair right, that's about it," remarked Shapovalov. Tsitsipas was
also surprised after looking at the image. "No, you're not allowed to do
this to me, that's not me. No, it's not me. Come on. I can show you baby pics
of me, that's not even close!" Stefanos he said.
Tsitsipas, who came in the Madrid Open with high confidence and
as one of the favourites after winning the Monte-Carlo Masters and finishing as
the runner-up in Barcelona, had a poor outing in the Spanish capital, where he
was knocked out after losing in the round of 64 to Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro in straight
sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
