Alexander Zverev is the final player who will compete for medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo after defeating Jeremy Chardy 6-4 6-1.
Zverev quietly had an amazing Olympics so far and he continued to play well today by defeating every tricky Jeremy Chardy with 6-4 6-2. The first set was a very closely contested one as Chardy served very well and when that happens it's very hard o break the Frenchman.
However, Zverev was able to patiently await his chances and once he got them he used them with clinical precision. Zverev himself was great and he did not allow a single break point in the first set which he won with 6-4.
The 2nd set was even more impressive by Zverev who attacked Chardy every time the Frenchman missed his first serve. That worked perfectly and Zverev used two break points of 4 he had to take a double break lead. He was putting up a serving clinic himself and Chardy had no chance.
He closed it out with another broken serve to make it 6-1 and move on to the medal round. Zverev will have a chance to win his first Olympic Medal but facing Novak Djokovic is a tough proposition for the German.
