Alexander Zverev bested Mikael Ymer while Alexander Bublik defeated Filip Krajinovic in Montpellier and they will play each other in the final.
In the first match of the day, Alexander Bublik faced Filip Krajinovic and he proved better than the Serbian extending his good run of form. The player from Kazakhstan opened the match slowly giving Krajinovic the early lead but quickly found his rhythm to make it a level scoreline. After that, he was able to pull ahead and win the opening set with 6-4.
He played an even better 2nd set while Krajinovic's game completely fell apart to win the 2nd with 6-2. It's a final for Bublik and a chance to win his maiden trophy as he is yet to win an ATP-level trophy. He will face another Alexander in the final and it will be Zverev who bested Mikael Ymer in the 2nd semifinal.
Ymer played brilliant tennis all week long showcasing his full skill in the indoor conditions of Montpellier. However, against Zverev, he was completely overmatched like the majority of tennis players that faced Zverev this week. The German played excellent tennis all week long, much better than the one he showed in Melbourne.
He came to the south of France with a purpose and that's winning a trophy. Today he cruised 6-1 6-3 against Ymer to set up the final. The Battle of Alexanders will happen tomorrow and Zverev will be heavily favoured to win the trophy.
