Denis Shapovalov announces engagement to fellow tennis player Mirjam Bjorklund

Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov has announced engagement to fellow tennis player Sweden’s Mirjam Bjorklund.

The two tennis stars have been dating for a while and on Thursday, Shapovalov announced the development on his official Twitter account.

The news will be a good one for the couple, especially considering that both are having a struggling time on the court this year.

Shapovalov has failed to qualify for the quarterfinal or beyond in the three Grand Slams this year.

The Tel Aviv-born was defeated by Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in the third round of the Australian Open (7-6, 6-4, 1-6, 4-6, 6-3), Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the third round of the French Open (6-1, 6-4, 6-2) and Russia’s Roman Safiullin in the fourth round (3-6, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3).

On the other hand, Bjorklund failed to qualify for the main draw in any of the Grand Slams and was knocked out from the qualification rounds.
