Bianca Andreescu hasn't played since last season due to an injury and while ramblings about her comeback have been there for over a month she is yet to step onto the court. She was rumoured to return for Canada when they played Switzerland. It didn't happen and while she was scheduled to return at Indian Wells it again didn't happen. Days before the event she announced that she pulled out due to the injury not yet fully healed. As fate had it, the tournament was cancelled anyway. It's not yet known whether it will be played at all.
Speaking to People Magazine she admitted being desperate to return:
"I’m super impatient to start competing again. I want to do the most, so I’m super anxious. But at the same time, I’m ready."
She further elaborated on her daily routine:
"I’m just taking it day by day, doing better and better as the days go on. I’m very pleased about that. I’ve been doing a lot of rehab on my knee, a lot of strengthening. Right now I’m hoping to play Miami Open."
She also used to chance to warn her rivals:
"I’ve been working really, really hard. I’m just ready to start competing again. I think I’ll be competing again at an even higher level than I was before."
Asked what she's most excited about she said the Olympics. She always dreamed about playing in the Olympics and now she has the chance. One topic that came up as well as her impatience. The US Open victory
She also spoke about her impatience which calmed down after she won the US Open last year. She described how it definitely impacted her perspective.
