The tennis community continues to support their societies and charities close to their heart during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Canadian superstar Felix Auger-Aliassime is another athlete who has pledged support to assist those in need during the ongoing crisis.
Earlier this year, the teenager had established a charity project titled #FAAPointsForChange. This initiative saw him donate $5 for every point he won during the 2020 season, with the proceeds going to assist children in his father's homeland of Togo.
Following the
suspension of the 2020 ATP season and the current global climate, Auger-Aliassime decided to retroactively apply this initiative. The 19-year old took to Instagram to announce that he would be donating $5 to the
CARE foundation for every point he won in 2019.
Auger-Aliassime declared that solidarity during this time of crisis was essential and the youngster continues to impress with his activities on and off the court.
The Canadian joins the growing list of ATP superstars who are pledging support during this time of need. The list includes
Roger Federer,
Rafael Nadal,
Novak Djokovic and doubles specialist
Juan Sebastian Cabal.
