Tennis fans reacted angrily after the former world number nine CoCo Vandeweghe and 2018 Wimbledon semifinalist John Isner were included in the coverage of the Indian Wells event.
The competition is set to begin on Monday where players from all over the world will participate and battle it out to secure the ultimate prize.
As per the latest report, the Tennis Channel has included Vandeweghe and Isner in the coverage of the competition. The move did not go down well as the fans on the social media expressed their displeasure. One fan call it a ‘bad day for tennis’.
Vandeweghe, who retired from the sport in 2023, ended her career after winning two WTA titles. Other than that, she also played in the semifinals of the Grand Slam on two different occasions.
She first played in the semifinal of the Australian Open in 2017 and lost to America’s Venus Williams with a score of 6-7, 6-2, 6-3. Later that year, she also played in the semifinal of the US Open and lost to Madison Keys in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
On the other hand, Isner also retired in 2023. He ended his career with 16 ATP titles. Other than that, he ended up playing in the semifinal at Wimbledon in 2018 but lost to South Africa’s Kevin Anderson with a score of 7-6, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4, 26-24.

What terrible news. Bad day for tennis. Both are bad commentators.
