Kiki Bertens is not in the shortlist for Dutch Sportswoman of the Year and that is something that she is very unhappy about especially considering the year she has had.

Bertens said that she won a Premier Five tournament becoming the first Dutch woman to do so and became number four in the World and said that she would have only been nominated if she'd won a Grand Slam.
She added that it was strange that her coach was nominated last year but she wasn't, not taking anything away from his role but now sees it as an extra night on the couch.
"I don't like that at all, that is well known. I won a Premier 5 tournament in Madrid, the first Dutch one. I became number 4 in the world, also the first one. And that in a global sport. But apparently you have to win a Grand Slam to be nominated.
"Take last year: how is it possible that a coach is nominated, but the athlete he coaches is not? Raemon really deserved it, but wasn't that strange? Anyway, I have an extra night on the couch. I don't know if I'll go and see. ”
