French tennis referee Anthony Pravettoni suspended and fined for betting

French Tennis have suspended referee Anthony Pravettoni for eight months and he has been fined $5,000 by the Tennis Integrity Unit (ITU) for taking part in betting.

These sanctions could be yet reduced if the official takes part in the anti-corruption program of tennis. In addition as well if he isn't caught again once more.

An investigation was completed by the Tennis Integrity Unit discovered that between February 24 and August 27, 2019; he made 42 bets on matches and as a result he was given this ban.

The Tennis Integrity Unit is a joint initiative of all governing bodies; including ATP, WTA, ITF to mount a zero tolerance method; to betting associated corruption in tennis.
