The project which was started by the Romanian Tennis Federation; wants to make more stars like Halep; by enabling kids to play tennis from a young age.
Simona Halep, Monica Niculescu, Horia Tecău and Marius Copil are the only players that have come through with none on the horizon; so the WTA star has made her intentions known with this donation.
Halep has her own foundation which aims to do similar and have a legacy long after she finishes her career.
“Creating a foundation has been a longstanding wish of mine, but it is also a new challenge for me, through which I can give something back in the long run. Together with my partners, I will try to develop long-lasting projects.
One of the foundation’s main goals is to leave a legacy long after my career is over. When I hang up my rackets, I will dedicate 100 percent of my time to this project” says Halep on her website.
