Holger Rune set to team up with Caroline Wozniacki against tennis power couple Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina in exhibition match

Denmark’s Holger Rune will team up with the former women’s
world number one Caroline Wozniacki in an exhibition match.
The event named The Champions Battle 2024, will be
organised in June later this year where the other team will be the power couple
of Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina and French tennis star Gael Monfils.
As per the latest report, Rune will partner with her Danish
partner to participate in the event. The 20-year-old announced the development in
a post on his official account on the social media platform X — previously known
as Twitter.
Rune had a disappointing time on the court during the
recently concluded Australian Open where he was knocked out of the competition after
losing in the second round to France’s Arthur Cazaux with a score of 7-6, 6-4, 4-6,
6-3. He will return to the action in the Open Sud De France where he
will take on Spain’s Pablo Llamas Ruiz on Thursday.
On the other hand, the former Australian Open winner Wozniacki,
also had a very average time on the court in the first Grand Slam of the year as
she was knocked out of the competition after losing in the second round to Maria
Timofeeva with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.

- The main difference for bigger names like Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverez, etc. is that they usually make it to the later stages of tournaments while 99% of the other players win a round or two and then move on to the next tournament.
