Stan Wawrinka reflected on his 2019 Diriyah Tennis Cup performance and also spoke about his plans for 2020 season.

Wawrinka lost to both Monfils and Isner in Saudi Arabia. On his performance, he commented: "My serve doesn't work that well yet. In both matches, I did not play great in the key points. My baseline game was pretty good. I can create pressure if I have time. With a good server like Isner, there are just a few rallies."

"Most part of the fitness training is complete. Now I have to work on my tennis. I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but also enough time to do it. I know what it takes to win the biggest tournaments. Now I am trying to do the right things for it. I think the good results and the good tennis are within me. I hope to be able to still win some titles. The last one was a long time ago. It would be the first step."

Wawrinka also spoke about his plans. He is looking forward to the 2020 Australian Open. Wawrinka has won the first of his 3 Grand Slam titles in Melbourne and he said: "I was never a player who plays too many events. As you get older, the less tennis you need to improve your performances. I need more time to recover. There are many memories. We look at so many matches and we train so hard for that moment. It was an incredible feeling. I love the Australian Open."
