John Isner is spending the Coronavirus lockdown with his family and he spoke to Tennis Live Channel on Skype about how he is spending his time away from the court and what he is missing due to the pandemic.

“I continue training but I have not the chance to hit many balls. I make some rallies with my wife. I am lifting weights at home and I like going by bicycle in my garden near home when it’s warm”, said Isner to Tennis Live Channel.
“Normally this is my favourite period of the year and I spend a lot of time at home; before leaving to Europe. At this time of the year I watched a lot of sport events on television. I am now missing the NBA and the NHL Play-offs; which should have taken place this month. To feel a sense of normality we watch Netflix”.
“We will have to be ready. Of course it will be different; but I think it is better to play behind closed doors rather than not to play at all."
Isner spoke also about the welfare of lower ranked players; he said that people should be worrying more about them instead of the main players who will be fine financially throughout this period.
“I am on the player council. So, we are all on a conference call when that idea was proposed; it’s something that the majority of players ranked in the top 100 approve of." added Isner.
“Of course, guys like Novak, Roger and Rafa, they are doing just fine, but we all realize that the tour is more than just a hand full of players and that we have to help everyone out."
