Petra Kvitova, Barbora Strycova, Karolina Muchova and Katerina Siniakova advanced at the Czech Tennis Associaton President's Cup.
While the WTA Tour is suspended, the Czech Tennis Association created a tournament for the Czech players. 8 players met in the competition including a 2-time Wimbledon champion,
Petra Kvitova.
In the first match of the competition,
Karolina Muchova faced Kristyna Pliskova. World no. 26, Muchova triumphed after 77 minutes 6-3, 6-4 to book the semifinal spot. In the 2nd match of the day, 2019 Wimbledon doubles champion,
Barbora Strycova faced only 15-years-old Linda Fruhvirtova. The more experienced Czech triumphed after an hour and 16 minutes 6-1, 7-5.
The biggest star of the tournament, Petra Kvitova faced Barbora Krejcikova in the 3rd match of the day. After a slower start in the first set, Kvitova triumphed 7-6, 6-2 to become the third semifinalist. In the last quarterfinal match,
Katerina Siniakova defeated Lucie Hradecka 6-3, 6-4.
