Matteo Berrettini is enjoying his time away from the court. He was filmed partying in Ibiza while romance rumours with Peggy Gou have been boosted once more following them dancing and
Following another brief injury setback, the Italian vowed to rest up and get himself ready for the North American hardcourt swing. He is also using this time period to have some fun and get tennis out of his mind for a period of time.
Ibiza is synonymous with passionate parties and raves with Berrettini opting to make the trip to the Spanish island to experience the nightlife in person.
A
video posted online showed him having a great time dancing and bobbing along to the music. Standing next to him was Gou. The South Korean DJ and singer is a very famous and well-known name in the music world and has also found herself in the spotlight in tennis as well.
There were rumours at the start of the year that she was going out with Carlos Alcaraz following her being spotted in the Spaniard's player box. Alcaraz would go on to win the title, but these dating rumours have since died down, especially when Gou confirmed they were just good friends.
Now, fans are getting excited over the prospect of Gou and Berrettini being a thing. At one of her sets, Berrettini was front and centre next to her. The South Korean would look over to him a couple of times, smiling when she saw the moves that he was pulling off.
This is not the first speculation fans have had. In early July, they both posted the same dessert on the same night on social media before Gou shared a picture of a racket keychain. Now with them partying in Ibiza, the rumours are just hotting up.
Berrettini has had a number of high profile relationships in the past. One of the most prominent was when he dated fellow tennis talent Ajla Tomljanovic from 2019-2022. For three years, they were regularly watching each other's matches and supporting one another on and off the court.
When that ended, the former Wimbledon finalist moved on to Italian model and television presenter Melissa Satt. This lasted just over a year from January 2023 to February 2024.
A very brief relationship with influencer Federica Lelli followed in suit before him and dancer Vanessa Belllini began going out. They made their relationship public halfway through 2025 but have since gone their separate ways as recently as June 2026. Neither Berrettini or Gou have confirmed that anything is happening between one or another.

Injuries have been truly detrimental to Berrettini, costing him what could have been a flourishing tennis career. There have still been great moments but a huge what if has been cast over his name if he could just stay fit for a long period of time.
A brilliant run to the quarter-finals of Roland Garros boosted him back up the rankings, but again his campaign was halted with any chance of Grand Slam success halted
due to injury. He returned for Wimbledon and got eye-catching wins over Stan Wawrinka and Arthur Fils before losing a five-set thriller to Grigor Dimitrov.
He was supposed to compete in some of the clay tournaments ahead of making the trip to North America, specifically in Gstaad and Kitzbühel, but he made the difficult choice of
skipping them, following his medical team' advice. Rest was needed, and that is what he is doing.
Two hugely important Masters 1000 events in the form of the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open lead up to the US Open. A former semi-finalist at Flushing Meadows, Berrettini missed the tournament last year. This was a huge blow back then but now is an opportunity to gain some valuable points and continue his climb back up the order. The tournament will take place from August 31 - September 13, with tennis fans hopeful that he can stay fit for the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year.
