The Tokyo Olympics was postponed to next year and this means that for many tennis players including ones coming towards the end of their career such as Serena Williams, their goals may adjust.
This is not the case though according to
Patrick Mouratoglou, Williams' coach who took to Instagram on Friday to recap on the memories from London 2012 Olympics in wake of the cancellation and also to look forward to next year. He also set a potential goal for Williams to achieve if she can win it again next year.
He said: "She and I were looking forward to strike gold again at this year’s Tokyo Olympics, but the goal has only been postponed to 2021… which gives us yet another motivation: Become the first tennis player to win the Olympics on an odd year!"
