Patrick
Mouratoglou's Academy has signed an agreement with Yuan Li Sports to promote
tennis in China.
The French
coach runs one of the most prestigious tennis academies in the world, where
many of the top male and female tennis players have been trained and often
continue to train.
The academy
has produced stars such as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Coco Gauff, Holger Rune, Linda
Fruhvirtova, and Brenda Fruhvirtova. Additionally, Patrick Mouratoglou served
as the coach for Serena Williams, Grigor Dimitrov, and Simona Halep in recent
times before being banned for alleged doping.
Mouratoglou
has had a successful coaching career, with 10 Grand Slam titles achieved with
Williams, four Coach of the Year awards, 39 individual coaching titles, and
over 40 players entering the top 100 under his guidance.
Through the
agreement between Yuan Li Sports Management Group and the Mouratoglou Academy,
teaching concepts and the training philosophy of the academy will be introduced
to provide personalized services for future Chinese tennis players.
The announcement comes despite the controversies that the ATP and WTA have faced due to the Peng Shuai case, which led to the suspension of WTA tournaments in China in 2022. However, the suspension was recently lifted, allowing tournaments to resume in the Asian country.
An advanced
center of the Mouratoglou Academy will be established in Beijing to train
students to the highest standards. Joanna Cui, President of Yuan Li Sports,
commented on the opportunity to develop the sport in the region.
“We are
honored to cooperate with Mouratoglou Academy. This cooperation will bring more
international training opportunities for young tennis enthusiasts in China and
help them achieve their dreams in the field of tennis,”
“We believe
that through cooperation with Mouratoglou Academy, Yuan Li Sports will make
positive contributions to the development of tennis in China,” she said.
Patrick
Mouratoglou also expressed excitement about the collaboration with the Chinese
company:
“We are
looking forward to this cooperation with Yuan Li Sports. China is a tennis
market full of potential, and we hope to share our professional knowledge and
experience and provide support for their growth and development.”
